Lawrence North High School has a strong history of producing award-winning bands. Our students have brought home over 100 Gold and Silver medals annually from District and State Solo & Ensemble competitions, earned positions in All State band, orchestra and percussion ensembles, university honor bands, and participated in many community performing organizations.
The newly formed Marching Pride of Lawrence Township has combined the musical talents of Lawrence North and Lawrence Central High School marching bands. In their first year of existence they were an ISSMA State Finalist and a Bands of America Grand National Finalist.
Lawrence Township Winter Percussion was State Runner-up in 2015 in the IPA Scholastic Marching Open Class (PSO).
Lawrence Township Winter Guard was a state finalist in IHSCGA Open Class in their inaugural 2015 season.
The Regime, LN’s former marching band and color guard, brought home 4 Indiana State Championship titles, 3 Indiana State Runner-up titles, 2 Midwest Championships, and ranked in the Nation’s Top Ten Bands, 5 times—with over 50 Invitational Championships.
LN's Wind Ensemble is consistently rated among the state's best earning With Distinction honors at ISSMA organizational competitions.
Wind Ensemble, Symphonic, and Concert Bands have won over 100 Gold awards from state ISSMA competition, nationally based Heritage Music Festivals in Nashville, Gatlinburg, St. Louis, Cincinnati, and Chicago, and the regional Music in the Parks festivals in Cincinnati’s Kings Island and Louisville’s Kentucky Kingdom.
Our Jazz Bands have won honors recognition at festivals including multiple regional Heritage Music Festivals, in Terre Haute South, Ft. Wayne Northside, Ft. Wayne Elmhurst, Ft. Wayne Northrop, Perry Meridian, Mt. Vernon, Ball State, Indiana State and Purdue Universities.
The Pep Band was named States Best, and has always been a crowd favorite. Go Wildcats!
