Programs

The Lawrence North High School Band Program maintains a tradition of high standards in music education and instruction. Band students earn the same excellent reputation due to quality classroom instruction—enhanced by participation in clinics and competitions offered at the district and state level. This combination paired with outstanding extra curricular performance exposure helps LN Band students consistently earn some of the states highest musical achievement awards, academic placements and scholarships for continuing education.

Lawrence North music students are encouraged to achieve excellence, both individually and as ensemble members. As individuals, students are offered private lessons, which are taken during class times. As ensemble members, students are offered a host of school-sponsored activities through which they can learn to master their instruments. Students are also rewarded for participating in musical activities in the community, including New World Youth Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphonic Band, Philips Guild, master classes, clinics, various Young Artist competitions, and church performances. All of these opportunities are encouraged in order to achieve the overall goal of our organization, which is excellence in musicianship for each participant.

Our program fees are among the lowest anywhere due to the dedicated support of the Lawrence North Band Boosters. Our boosters participate in, and offer fundraising and sponsorship opportunities year round. Without these opportunities, our program fees would be markedly higher. Fundraising and sponsorships are the essential components in keeping our band fees lower, helping to pay for transportation, providing scholarship assistance, and offering discounts on trip fees for all Lawrence North High School band members.
